fbxview — quick FBX / OBJ / STL viewer for Windows
neuralworkshk.com version 1.0
====================================================================

WHAT IT IS
A single program that opens and shows 3D models — including the
multi-GB files a web browser cannot load. No conversion first, and
nothing to install: no Blender, no FBX Review, no runtime, no DLLs.

It only looks at your file. It never modifies or writes anything.

HOW TO USE IT

  1. DOUBLE-CLICK fbxview.exe → a file picker opens, choose a model.

  2. Or DRAG a model onto fbxview.exe.

  3. Or drag a model onto the window once it is open, any time, to
     swap to a different model.

  Supported: .fbx .obj .stl

CONTROLS
  Left mouse drag ....... rotate
  Right mouse drag ...... pan
  Mouse wheel ........... zoom
  1 2 3 4 5 6 ........... front / back / right / left / top / bottom
F ..................... fit the model in view
  W ..................... wireframe on / off
  O ..................... open another file
  F1 .................... show this list
  Esc ................... quit

FIRST RUN: WINDOWS MAY WARN YOU
SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" for any program
downloaded from the internet that isn't code-signed.

Click "More info" → "Run anyway"

If Windows blocks it entirely: right-click fbxview.exe → Properties →
tick "Unblock" at the bottom → OK.

VERY LARGE MODELS
Above about 4 million triangles the model is simplified for DISPLAY
ONLY, by merging vertices that fall into the same tiny grid cell.
The surface stays closed — no holes — and your file is untouched.

The title bar tells you when this is happening, e.g.
      part.fbx - 12,480,556 triangles (showing 3,910,442) - 1.4 GB

Memory needed is roughly 1.8× the file size while opening, then far
less once it is on screen. A 625 MB FBX opens in about 3 seconds.

IF IT WILL NOT OPEN YOUR FILE
  "no mesh geometry"
The file contains only cameras, lights, bones or curves.

  "Could not read this file"
Possibly a very old or corrupt FBX. Re-export it as FBX 2013 or
      newer, binary.

"Could not start OpenGL on this computer"
Rare — usually a server or a remote session with 3D disabled.
Try running it on the physical machine, or update the graphics
      driver.
